The business case for sustainability and the link to economic outcomes: - A primary focus upon Socially Responsible Investing and the link to shareholder value, but also including other aspects of business case and financial modelling. 2. Strategic Decision Making and sustainability: - understanding how strategic decisions deliver sustainability objectives i.e. how complex strategic decisions of large economic value, with multiple stakeholders and long time-frame, deliver against their social, environmental and economic objectives and manage the risk of negative unintended consequences. 3. Green-tech and its role in the transition to a sustainable future direction - understanding how the Internet of Things and similar technological developments can enable change. Examples include: - personal carbon allowances at the individual scale using smart card technology to demonstrate the concept of a personal carbon account; - citizen science at the community-scale for air quality monitoring working with local groups; - at a city-region and national scale working on the broad "smart cities" agenda
