Why do so many people/companies have ideas, yet successfully commercialize so few? Many believe things would be different with more money, people, facilities, equipment, etc. Initially, this belief was shared at Innovative and a great effort was made to connect ideas to the resources ideators thought they needed. And there certainly is a place for these resources! But after years of observed failures in ideas and businesses, it became clear that success depended almost entirely on the PROCESS, NOT the availability of resources. Repeatedly, ideas were turned into businesses, protected with patents and even funded before they were properly validated. Failure almost always followed, usually accompanied by economic devastation, career suicide, divorce, ruined relationships, depression and other undesirable consequences. Meanwhile, ideas that were properly validated consistently received the resources they required because they had proven that there were markets who really wanted to use/purchase them. The risk was decreased, so people and their resources were more inclined to get involved. Innovative X has combined these lessons with over a dozen of the world's most commonly used idea development processes, and transformed them into a single process.
