Val Leoffler is a bodywork & Trager practitioner, Continuum teacher, clinical hypnotherapist, Registered Somatic Movement Therapist & Registered Somatic Movement Educator who is celebrating 35 years of private practice in healing & bodywork teaching movement to individuals, classes and groups. She offers private sessions in bodywork and Continuum Somatic Movement Mentoring, at her office in Santa Cruz as well as via phone and Zoom. Her training includes 30 years of experience with Emilie Conrad & Susan Harper, founders of Continuum, developmental movement systems with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, training with Dr. Milton Trager, creative arts with the Tamalpa Institute, 30 years of yoga (Iyengar & Tri-Yoga), a blackbelt in Judo, studies with Gabrielle Roth, improv theatre, Craniosacral Therapy with Upledger Institute, Zero Balancing with Dr. Fritz Smith, perception & movement studies with Hubert Godard, Visceral Manipulation with the Barral Institute, womens health and an extensive background in working with injury & healing. She is also a founding member of Continuum Teacher Association: www.continuumteachers.com As a co-founder of the Santa Cruz Womens Health Center in the 1970s she developed a lifelong commitment to the study of alternative healthcare and interest in Eastern Healing Arts, including certification in Amma Massage. She is continually interested & delighted in how the fluid worlds of bodywork and movement arts influence & inform each other & brings this passion & vitality to her teaching.
