INEOS Bio develops and brings to market green process technology for global use. Our vision is to provide an enduring competitive advantage in the emerging bioenergy sector, while meeting some of the most challenging needs of society, as expressed through climate change and waste legislation. The INEOS Bio platform is based on an innovative industrial biotechnology, which has been extensively developed and proven on an integrated pilot plant since 2003. A wide range of carbon feedstocks have been successfully tested through a rigorous and extensive research and development programme. The first commercial advanced BioEnergy facility is currently expected to complete construction in early Q2, 2012 at the Vero Beach, FL location. The project has been supported by the US Department of Energy, the US Department of Agriculture and the State of Florida. INEOS is the world’s fourth largest chemicals group and a leading manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. As of the end of 2010 it operates 15 businesses and with a production network spanning 61 manufacturing facilities in 13 countries, the group produces more than 40 million tonnes of petrochemicals and 20 million tonnes per annum of crude oil refined products (fuels) each year. INEOS employs 15,000 people globally and more than 3,000 people in the United States. It has annual sales of around $40 billion.
