In-Game Learning is the home of The Plain Game, an effective, foundational, online, workplace, plain language training course that’s fun and scalable. The course is a game. So, it engages people’s imagination, which helps them learn and helps their learning to stick. The course is based on the plain language training course that co-founder Christopher Balmford and his colleagues have delivered to more than 25,000 people, in 9 countries, over 30 years. The learning in The Plain Game is aligned with Part 1 of ISO’s plain language standard. The game is available in English now and will be available in Spanish in November 2026. The Plain Game has entertaining videos, educational material, quizzes, and challenges. The videos are set in an office and involve a cast of colourful animal characters grappling with how to communicate clearly. Learner-players help solve the problems the characters face.
