Impact Industries was founded in 1974. Growing from a strong marching and percussion background, innovative and useful products soon began to evolve. Impact's patented hand-laid fiberglass marching drum and vests revolutionized the marching band. The new fiberglass drum and carrier greatly reduced fatigue by reducing the weight of the instrument without affecting sound quality or volume. In fact, many drummers prefer Impact drums for their quality sound and superior projection. Impact soon gained the reputation as the innovative leader in new drum products. Among these included a full line of hard cases, drum bags and accessories for dealers and OEM's. Demand for Impacts quality product lines brought rapid growth in the drum industry, spawning additional innovative products. The most recent is the development of the A.I.R system (Advanced Impact Reduction) for bags and cases. This invention uses inflatable air chambers in the bag or case to protect the instrument. The A.I.R bag provides 5-10 times the impact protection of a foam-lined bag. Introduced in January at the 2007 NAMM show the A.I.R system received very positive feedback. Look for A.I.R system bags to be available sometime this year. At the end of 2005, Impact Industries was acquired by Wausau Canvas Co., Inc. a 110-year-old industrial fabrics manufacturer. Impact now operates as a division of Wausau Canvas Co. As one of the few remaining US manufacturers of bags and cases, we must constantly improve and evolve in the face of stiff competition from imported products as well as domestic companies. Through innovative product design and automation, we can offer customers superior products at competitive prices. To that end, product patterns have been digitized and are now cut with accuracy and efficiency on our state of the art computer-cutting table. This ensures you of a top quality product and value pricing. Our bag and case departments have completed and implemented the "Principles of Lean Manufacturing " program to provide our customers with the most efficiently produced products possible. This investment in US manufacturing has allowed us to offer an unprecedented 24-hour turn around on bag orders and 1-3 days on case orders including custom! This is in an industry where lead times on these products are often measured in weeks or months! Please take some time to look at our website. We have worked to make it easy to navigate and easy to find sizes. We do appreciate your business and hope you will continue to use Impact products. Your comments are always welcome.
