Imorgon Medical is a privately held health care company providing intuitive, wholly integrated solutions that empower diagnostic ultrasound to deliver the highest quality of patient care. The company was founded in 2006 by industry veterans, who believed that the protocols and workflow for reading ultrasound studies in Radiology Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS), required significant improvement to meet the unique needs of ultrasound imaging. Diagnostic ultrasound imaging provides nonparallel, color images and dynamic clips to convey patient exam information; however, PACS best supports modalities with static, parallel, grey-scale images such as MRI, CT and digital X-ray. To address this gap, Imorgon’s team of experts developed the Imorgon Ultrasound Enhancement System™, a new solution that restores ultrasound-specific functionality that Radiology PACS does not support. Specifically, the Imorgon Enhancement System seamlessly integrates with enterprise PACS workstations, and the system’s harmonization engine provides vendor-neutral compatibility with all major medical ultrasound systems and dictation systems. As a result, the Imorgon System is able to display ultrasound images and clips in interleaved, acquisition order with clips automatically playing; it automatically transfers measurements and calculations from the ultrasound exam to the radiology report; and it enables radiology departments to fully leverage their ultrasound technology investment and ultimately deliver higher levels of patient care. Benefits With Imorgon, sonographers can perform exams more easily utilizing the Sonographer Quality Control (Q/C) tools. Sonographer findings are automatically added to diagnostic reports, and paper worksheets are replaced with electronic worksheets that auto-populate report templates with exam observations, thereby eliminating redundant dictation.
