Incredible Kids is an inclusive play centre in Bristol where children with additional needs and disabilities have fun alongside their families.
Based in Bristol we support children and young people with any special needs or disability to play, have fun and make friends.
The charity began in 2012 in response to a lack of services for disabled children and the families then set up a unique space for inclusive family play. Incredible Kids has grown from there to support 6000 visitors a year and have 700 members.
Play sessions are held in Kingswood, Bristol four times a week and focus on inclusion and wellbeing and reducing social isolation. Trained children's playworkers help the children have fun and engage in meaningful play.
We work with families from the beginning of their journey at a time when they may receive no support from health, education and social care, filling a huge gap in support.
The most important thing we do is to help families that have children with additional needs have fun together. We provide an inclusive safe place where children and young people with additional needs, their siblings and their parent/carers can spend quality time together.
We help families make friends and support each other. In a recent survey 83% of parent carers, 76% of children with additional needs and 78% of siblings said they had made friends at Incredible Kids. Before visiting Incredible Kids 85 of families said they felt isolated. After attending Incredible Kids 89% of families no longer felt isolated. These statistics show we make a huge difference in the lives of the families who visit us.
We are currently recruiting for new trustees. We are actively looking for permanent dedicated large premises for the charity in Bristol.
The charity is a Christian led charity through its board of trustees, motivated by Christian compassion but open to all.
