Mensen helpen bij het maken; dat doen we al sinds 1978. In dat jaar openden we onze eerste winkel in Venlo. Nu zijn we uitgegroeid tot een van de grootste bouwmarkten in Nederland. Ruim 98% van de Nederlanders kent Praxis. Daar zijn we trots op! In 1997 openden we als eerste bouwmarkt in Nederland een Megastore. Sindsdien hebben we al vele megastores meer geopend waarvan een groot aantal ook een tuincentrum heeft. Voor de kleine klussen is er ook de Praxis City, deze zijn gevestigd in het centrum van grote steden. En we zijn nog niet klaar! Praxis blijft nog steeds nieuwe winkels openen. Met ruim 5.700 medewerkers werken we elke dag hard om te zorgen dat we onze klanten helpen bij het maken. Praxis is onderdeel van de Maxeda DIY Group. Maxeda DIY Group is marktleider in de Doe-Het-Zelf markt in de Benelux met medewerkers verspreid over Praxis, Brico en Plan-it. Alle medewerkers van Maxeda DIY Group hebben hun eigen taken en verantwoordelijkheden. Wij allen, in de hele organisatie, werken samen volgens onze filosofie: Building the Best voor onze medewerkers en onze klanten. Een filosofie die zowel klanten als medewerkers centraal in het hart van het bedrijf plaatst en ‘teamwork’ en dienstbaarheid vooropstelt. Wanneer je solliciteert op een functie op ons hoofdkantoor is de kans erg groot dat je gaat werken voor de verschillende merken van Maxeda en niet alleen voor Praxis.

As a UKRI accredited Independent Research Organisation, social investor and community development practitioner, we combine all our skills and expertise, to further that mission. We amplify the stories and lived experiences of people in our communities; using this as a spur to drive locally-led community action and enterprise. And we use what we learn across different communities to spot national patterns of need and opportunity. Then we work with national partners to support new ideas to tackle those shared, national challenges. Bringing together our own – and other people’s – work, we are building a shared body of evidence, tools and insight about how communities are taking action on the issues that affect them. We are experts in understanding the changing role of communities in the 21st century. We have a long track record incubating over 80 new organisations including: Which? The Open University, Language Line, Social Innovation Exchange, School for Social Entrepreneurs, Uprising and Action for Happiness. We continue to offer incubation support, plus office and back office support, to early-stage, innovative organisations that share our mission.
