The Independent Filmmakers Showcase (IFS) is a organization founded to promote and support the creation and distribution of quality independent filmmaking. By providing screening opportunities that spotlight emerging and autonomous filmmakers at our showcases, events, and film festivals, and through our efforts in creating new venues for independent screenings and in our support for the preservation of existing cinemas and other film festivals and screening events, and with our lifelong dedication to fostering a community of filmmakers, producers, distributors, and students to share resources and information, the IFS assists in helping audiences and filmmakers to discover each other. Founded in 1996, IFS attempts to cultivate avenues and spaces for independent and student artists from all over the world to create and display their stories wihout commercial pressure, in affordable screening venues in order to discover and develop independent filmmaking and cinema-house culture.
