Idaho Hand Center Information

The Idaho Hand Center strives to provide and coordinate all aspects of your care, including x-rays and splinting as well as on site therapy and in-office minor surgical procedures. The courteous administrative staff are trained to help you with scheduling and insurance questions. Get to know our staff:John Kloss, M.D.John G. Kloss, M.D. is a graduate of Boise High School, Johns Hopkins University, and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. He completed a pediatric internship and one year of surgery at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Kloss served in the U.S. Air Force in Athens, Greece. He then completed an Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Arizona and a Christine Kleinert Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Louisville. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Kloss joined the Boise Orthopedic Clinic in 1980 and was a partner there for 28 years. In August of 2008 he fulfilled a longtime goal of opening an office dedicated to the care and treatment of the hand and upper extremity. He and his partner, Dr. David Lamey, formed the Idaho Hand Center. Dr. Kloss has been active in Medical Affairs, serving as Chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and President of the Medical Staff at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. He has also been active in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, serving for six years on the AAOS Board of Counselors as the counselor for Idaho. He is a founding member and Past President of the Idaho Hand Society. He is married with a grown son and daughter, and a two special granddaughters and one grandson His outside interests are in bicycling, gardening, and sea kayaking.
