Not only ICONSIAM supports the local communities nearby and improves their quality of life but also conserves and passes Thai culture on to next generations by cooperating with Khlong San Community Development and Welfare Department to do a pilot project of "Bangkok Local Museum Project". The project is to give information about Khlong San Community's history and to foster teenagers to love and cherish community culture. The activities are the field trip at the target area and the lecture by Mr. Punyapat Lertsamranraungrom (Khun Pop), an independent scholar, who plays a role in developing Khlong San area. Bangkok Local Museum Project received good feedback from teenagers which is a good sign to develop the project to the full cultural inheritance project. Apart from Bangkok Local Museum Project which supports community and inherits Thai culture, ICONSIAM realizes the importance of taking care, restoring and protecting the environment. We never ignore the effect on environment from every procedure we have done and we also do EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment). Besides, ICONSIAM has used the information, opinions, suggestions from people, private sectors and agencies nearby the project which involves EIA and theories in forecasting the good and bad effects of the project on environment in natural, economic and social aspects to prevent the possible bad effect. ICONSIAM in cooperation with the police from Pak Khlong San and Somdej Chao Phraya Police Stations surveyed Khlong San and Somdej Chao Phraya communities to do questionnaire about EIA and met the director of Wat Suwan School to publicize the project and ask for permission to set up the pollution monitor suggested by EIA committee. One of the most important things that ICONSIAM realizes is to take care of Chao Phraya River which is the origin of history and civilization of the nation including canals.
