The NC3Rs is a UK-based scientific organisation dedicated to replacing, refining and reducing the use of animals in research and testing (the 3Rs). We collaborate with scientists and organisations from across the life sciences sector, nationally and internationally, including universities, the pharmaceutical, chemical and consumer products industries, other research funders, and regulatory authorities. We support the commitment of the scientific community to the 3Rs by funding research and early career development, supporting open innovation and the commercialisation of 3Rs technologies, and stimulating changes in policy, regulations and practice.

About The Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI) As the professional membership organisation for over 11,000 anaesthetists in the UK and Ireland, the AAGBI promotes patient care and safety, and advances anaesthesia through education, publications, research and international work, as well as the professional aspects of the specialty. The AAGBI is a founder organisation of The Lifebox Foundation.

The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) is a registered charity working to enhance skills and knowledge within operating departments, associated areas and sterile services departments. As a membership organisation, AfPP works to enhance the quality of care in the NHS and the independent sector across the UK. AfPP was established in 1964 as the National Association of Theatre Nurses (NATN). In April 2005 the organisation changed its name, structures and systems in recognition of the significant changes that were happening in the healthcare sector. The addition of 'perioperative' was to further accommodate the growing numbers of Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) and Healthcare Support Workers (HCA, HSWs) previously not eligible for full membership.
