ICEE Solutions LLC is a leading provider of power verification and validation products for SOC designs with multiple power domains, and specializes in mixed signal designs. Highly integrated circuits are essential components in today’s mobile devices. In order to maximize and extend battery life, circuit designs, which include digital and analog blocks, must work under different power modes and power domains. The mixing of power modes and high capacity designs brings a formidable challenge to the EDA tool; these tools must analyze and verify power modes and the power domain to optimize the mix signal designs and to ensure that there are no unexpected leakage paths. Cratus is the flagship software product from ICEE Solutions to solve the issues. It can tackle power validation and verification issues at the SOC Level, including analog blocks. Independent of UPF or any other power intent format, Cratus can directly take spice/CDL/structure Verilog netlist and automatically identify the power domain for each block without much user interference. Based on defined power modes, Cratus can statically scan through all possible combinations for mixed signal designs and recognize potential leakage paths caused by power mode combinations – spice and Verilog simulation cannot efficiently determine these leakage paths, as they require dynamic stimuli and a long simulation time. Cratus, due to its independence from UPF, can handle mixed signal blocks and can also output Macro Models to be used later at SOC level. In addition, Cratus an also cross check with UPF to identify missing power definitions in UPF. Cratus is the only mixed signal power verification and validation tool currently on market.
