The IC2 Institute is a “think and do tank” at UT Austin committed to interdisciplinary research with real-world impact. The Institute’s early work shaped Austin into a vibrant hub of entrepreneurship and innovation; since then, the Institute has shared its playbook for ecosystem creation with more than 40 communities around the world. Today, IC2 is working to create a “well-being economy” — an economy in which shared prosperity and the equitable allocation of resources are key drivers. To accomplish this, the Institute facilitates interdisciplinary research and convenes public, private and nonprofit sectors to collaboratively solve problems. The Institute’s research portfolio is continually evolving; current priorities include reducing health disparities and developing AI-based solutions to support health care in safety-net settings.
