IBP Ventures improves cryopreservation outcomes by reducing freeze damage and increasing post-thaw viability in real biological systems. Freeze–thaw stress remains a critical constraint across IVF, cell therapy, biologics and biobanking—impacting yield, consistency and cost. We focus on solving this problem directly by controlling ice behaviour at the interface, rather than only optimising surrounding formulations. Our approach uses engineered ice-binding proteins, supported by computational screening and targeted wet-lab evaluation, to identify candidates that deliver measurable performance improvements under real workflow conditions. We work through defined feasibility pilots, generating decision-grade evidence on viability, recovery and system compatibility. This allows partners to assess technical and commercial potential early, before committing to larger development programmes. While our initial focus is cryopreservation, the same technology has wider applications across anti-icing, food systems and advanced materials where ice formation limits performance or stability.
