The Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) is a CEO-led association of companies operating in Indonesia, who share a commitment to promoting sustainable development through sustainable economic growth, ecological balance and social progress. The launch of this business council in April 2011 represents a new regional chapter of the WBCSD. Founder members of IBCSD include 6 prominent Indonesian companies: Bakrie Telecom, Bank Negara Indonesia, Medco Power Indonesia, Holcim Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia and PT Riau Andalan Pulp Paper. The IBCSD is providing a platform for businesses to share and promote best practice in tackling risks and taking advantage of opportunities related to sustainable development. It will also act as a key partner to government and civil society providing business input and solutions for Indonesian policies on sustainability issues. The key aims of the IBCSD are to: - To provide business leadership as a catalyst for change towards sustainable development. - To support the business license to operate, innovate and grow in a world increasingly shaped by sustainable development issues.
