The University of Coimbra (UC) is a Portuguese public higher education institution with more than 700 years of experience in education, training and research. The first and the only Portuguese-speaking university until the early 20th century, UC has affirmed its position over the years with a unique mix of tradition, contemporaneity and innovation. The University of Coimbra has a unique tangible and intangible heritage, keystone in the scientific culture of Europe and the World, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013. Nowadays, the University of Coimbra has eight faculties (Literature, Law, Medicine, Science and Technology, Pharmacy, Economics, Psychology and Educational Sciences, Sport Sciences and Physical Education) and more than 22 thousand students. To study at the University of Coimbra is to pursue the intellectual history of the country in the school that graduated some of the most distinguished personalities of national culture, science and politics. In 2020, UC was considered the best institution in Portugal and the only one in the world top 20 (17th place) in compliance with the Health and Wellbeing indicator, the third UN Sustainable Development Goal, according to the second edition ranking “The University Impact Rankings”, by Times Higher Education.

Since its creation in 1911, Instituto Superior Técnico is the largest and most reputed school of Engineering, Science and Technology and Architecture in Portugal. At IST, we aim to give our students and alumni the education and the knowledge tools to improve, to change and to shape society through science, technology, and entrepreneurship. With the project Training for Resilience - a value for the future the Universidade Católica aims at: - Graduating 669 more graduates in STEAM areas - Increase the participation of + 5 537 adults in skills reconversion programmes - Benefit 21 334 students by reinforcing the quality of infrastructures - Develop + 3 Post-Graduate Alliances/Schools Inserted in the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the project has a total funding of 8,563,495 €
