Hypha Studios Information

Hypha Studios is a cultural placemaking charity transforming vacant commercial properties into free studios, galleries and creative spaces across the UK. Founded in 2021, we work with some of the UK’s largest property owners to make cultural use of vacant buildings commercially viable. Our model helps landlords make productive use of empty properties while providing artists with free space to create, experiment and exhibit their work. We’ve supported over 3,000 artists across more than 80 locations, hosted nearly 3,000 free public events and welcomed over 57,000 visitors. By opening up otherwise unused buildings, we bring art and culture directly into communities, making creative spaces and exhibitions accessible to everyone, regardless of income or background. We believe that access to space shouldn’t be a barrier to creativity, and that vacant buildings can play a much greater role in the cultural life of our towns and cities.
