No doubt about it - economic times are tough, and getting tougher. US companies and government agencies working together to defend our country and keep our homeland safe face ever-larger threats with constantly shrinking budgets. What's worse, the cost of developing and testing new technology keeps going up. The increasing capabilities of computer modeling can help reduce development costs by reducing the need for testing. We believe, however, that even the best computer models run by the most experienced modelers need to be consistantly validated against real-world data from high precision, high fidelity experiments. Increasingly, the problem with doing so is cost. That's why in 2008 we decided to take our many years of weapons development and explosive testing experience into the private sector and make it available to US Government and industrial customers. The result was HyperSpectral Sciences, Inc. Our goal is to make high precision fabrication, modeling, and state-of-the-art test capabilities available to qualified customers at small-business prices. How can we do that? Well, the technology for testing explosive systems has been around for a long time. What's often lacking is detailed knowledge of the the techniques used in explosive testing, and how experience-based knowledge of how to make optimum use of the specialized equipment needed for such research. Experience also helps avoid mistakes that can cause partial or complete loss of data during the test. Unlike computer models, real-world explosive tests have no "reset" button - you absolutely MUST have every detail right before you press "go". You usually don't have the option of just doing it over. That's where our years of experience pays off for you. Sure, when we were learning this business we made mistakes and lost data. The unfortunate reality of real-world experiments is: "The devil's in the details.", and there are a lot of ways to "get it wrong". Yes, we are a small company, and we haven't been around very long. But we have considerable ...
