HyperCite™ is a new web-based application designed for appellate attorneys. In minutes, HyperCite™ turns a brief’s record citations into active hyperlinks that can send a reader straight to the cited pages within a record. Attorneys have already used HyperCite™ to file hyperlinked briefs through TrueFiling, and, best of all, HyperCite™ is currently free for all registered users. Courts want hyperlinked briefs, and, as appellate attorneys, we want the ability to guide readers straight to the exact page in the record that we want them to see. But, on the other hand, appellate documents usually have 10 record citations per page, and vendors typically charge thousands of dollars to link a 60-page opening brief plus 30-page reply. In less than five minutes, HyperCite™ automatically generates a new PDF that contains the fully-linked brief and the entire record. In the brief, record citations now connect (“link”) directly to the specified pages within the supporting documents.
