Our largest program is the Miami Book Fair (MBF), held over eight days each November. The Book Fair welcomes more than 200,000 attendees each year and encompasses author presentations, national and international book publishers, educational children’s activities, music, dance, visual arts, children’s theatre, creative writing workshops, and a three-day street fair.
Just a few of the other major programs conducted throughout the year include:
• Author Presentations: Miami Book Fair brings hundreds of esteemed authors from across the country and globe ranging from Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winners, biographers and journalists, to novelists and poets, to various venues throughout Miami.
• The Big Read: A month long community reading campaign supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
• ReadCaribbean: A comprehensive year-round Haitian/Caribbean literary and cultural series with cornerstone programs at the annual 8-day Book Fair in November, and during Haitian Heritage Month.
• Miami Writers Institute: Creative writing conference featuring workshops with best-selling and award-wining authors and publishing professionals.
• Generation Genius: Literacy and learning initiatives for children and teens.
