Hutchison Ports arrived on Grand Bahama Island in 1996 to conduct a feasibility study confirming yet another location to do business. In 1997, Hutchison Ports FCP operations commenced. Not only did the group find the ideal location for a transshipment terminal, they further invested in the harbour, the airport, significant land holdings, and the island’s largest resort property. Hutchison Ports is the port and related services division of CK Hutchison Holdings Limited (CK Hutchison). Hutchison Ports is the world’s leading port investor, developer and operator with a network of port operations in 53 ports spanning 24 countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Australasia. Over the years, Hutchison Ports has expanded into other logistics and transportation-related businesses, including cruise ship terminals, airport operations, distribution centres, rail services, and ship repair facilities. In 2025, Hutchison Ports handled a combined throughput of 90.1 million TEU.
