The Sydney University Football Club is the oldest rugby union club outside of Britain and the eighth oldest in the world. The Club has had great success in recent years, consistently featuring in and winning, Grand Finals. The Club has won the Club Championship 23 times, including the last 14 years in a row. In 2017, five of the seven teams from the Club contested their respected Grand Finals, with four of these teams claiming the Major Premierships - 2nd and 4th Grades and 1st and 2nd Colts. We also won 3 Minor Premierships - 4th Grade, 1st and 3rd Colts. UFC has the proud tradition of producing representative players. The Club has produced 126 Australian Representatives, of which 104 are Wallabies and between them they have played over 1311 test matches.

Founded in 1900 the West Harbour Pirates (formerly Western Suburbs) are based at Concord Oval, a 20,000 seat purpose built rugby stadium located on Parramatta Road and compete in the Sydney Shute Shield, Australia's premier club rugby competition. The club currently have 4 men's grade teams, 3 colts (under 20's) and 1 women's team as well as a large juniors catchment from Wests Juniors, St Patrick's Juniors and Briar's Juniors who all have teams from under 6's to Under 17's. To date, the Pirates have had 22 players go on to represent the Wallabies including the likes of Salesi Ma'afu, Stephen James and Lote Tuqiri. Other notable international players include current 1st grade captain Wayne Ngaluafe who has represented Tonga, Dan Parks - Scotland and Des Tuiavii - Samoa. A key focus at the club for the 2022 season and beyond is to build a strong commercial partnerships program and the ability to have our partners interact with one another, gain a strong return on their investment and grow their business. Gordon was admitted to Sydney's Premier Grade Competition in 1936 fielding four grade and two junior sides, which participated in the Metropolitan Junior Competition. By 1939, the 1st XV had won the minor premiership but were defeated in the final by the ultimate premiers. Gordon won its first Club Championship in 1949 along with Premierships to its 1st and 4th grade teams. In 1949, the club adopted a new jersey incorporating the colours of the Gordon tartan and its club song “A Gordon For Me”, emphasising the strong Scottish influence within the club. First grade premierships were achieved in 1949, 1952, 1956, 1958, 1976, 1993, 1995, 1998 and 2020. Over the years, the lower grade sides have played prominently at or near the top of the competition tables with Gordon winning the Club Championship 13 times. In addition to the club’s attractive style of play it is renowned for its dedication to the promotion of the game at all levels, its tremendous club spirit, its enthusiastic supporters and an excellent and supportive administration. Under the banner of Gordon Rugby, the Gordon Rugby Football Club Ltd currently fields four grade, three colts sides and a Women's program for XVs and 7s.
