Hummings Information

Hi! I am Katherine. I am the founder of Hummings. I am from New York. I worked three jobs in college. I lived at home after college to pay off student loans, and moved around Queens and Brooklyn to save on rent. My dream was to own a Manhattan apartment with large windows and a real kitchen. I did that five months before I turned 30, albeit it was a tiny apartment. I enjoy good food. I love to travel. And I try to ski as often as I can afford. Ive always been the go-to friend to find ways to live smartly in an expensive city, like New York. After the 2008 financial crisis, I started talking to my colleague, Mike, about how the traditional consumer credit models have failed most personal bankruptcies came from consumers with 700+ credit scores. After working on digital payments & mobile wallets for the past 5 years, I was surprised to see that there were no simple and intuitive tools to help consumers to manage and optimize our day-to-day spend and wish list. Along with Mike, John, and then Diana, Pavan, Dan and Oliver, we started working on Hummings, mostly on nights and weekends. We come from different disciplines: MBAs, consumer analytics, product design, writer, and engineer. We share a common mission: a simple and intuitive personal spend management tool that helps us live life with passion, confidence, and enjoyment. We build Hummings based on our lives in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and San Francisco. We are also music buffs, photographers, foodies, baseball fans, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts.
