Erdemir, the main company of the OYAK Mining Metallurgy and one of the most valuable industrial assets of Turkey, was established in 1960 under a special law, in order to be the first domestic producer of flat steel, which the Turkish industry necessitates at that time. Erdemir produces plates, hot and cold rolled, tin, chromium and zinc coated flat steel and supplies basic inputs to automotive, white goods, pipes and tubes, rolling, manufacturing, electrics-electronics, mechanical engineering, energy, heating equipment, shipbuilding, defense, and packaging industries.

Excellence in Fabricating Copper The company has a special place in the history of industrialization of the country as the first successful publicly held corporation. The production plants of Sarkuysan are located in Gebze, Darıca and Tuzla. The company has annual production capacity over 220.000 tons. With approximately 5000 shareholders, Sarkuysan is a dynamic and enterprising International Corporation truly publicly owned and run by professional management. Compliant to its intensive export marketing and sales efforts, Sarkuysan has branches as Sarkuysan SPA in Italy and Bemka GmbH in Germany. In USA, Sark-Wire, Inc.as a subsidiary of Sarkuysan Group has two production plants in Albany, NY and Toccoa, GA. Also Sark Bulgaria AD production plant in Shumen, Bulgaria is the other subsidiary of Sarkuysan Group which expands the activities of the company to EU. Aegean Free Zone plant in İzmir, Turkey produces high value added products.
