Welcome. Since HRSD's inception, there has been one overriding mission -- to protect public health and the waters of Hampton Roads by treating wastewater effectively. HRSD returns treated effluent to nature in a way that will continue to nurture our water's delicate ecosystems. HRSD's workforce of scientists, engineers, water quality professionals and experts in various other fields know they must be sensitive to the needs of people and also be sensitive to the plants and animals who rely on our ability to protect their habitats.
