Housing Resources Bainbridge Information

Founded in 1989, Housing Resources Bainbridge (HRB) is the only nonprofit affordable housing provider located on Bainbridge Island. As a community land trust, we remove land from the profit-driven market and conserve it for permanently affordable housing for rent and sale to income-eligible households, creating a more equitable and sustainable alternative to the open market. HRB also offers independent living services so that older adults and people with disabilities might continue to live safely at home. In 2026, we have 121 rental homes and 75 owner-occupied homes, with many more on the way. We are guided by two principles: A safe and affordable home is the foundation on which to build a life and a precondition for any improvement in health, wellbeing, and prosperity. And housing is critical infrastructure, much like roads and public transportation. It welcomes and retains a diversity of people with a diversity of skills and perspectives, benefiting all regardless of income.
