Hotline is a cooking app built on real people. The first thing it says on the splash is the whole position: real people, real cooking, no AI bs. We built it because the food internet stopped being about food. Feeds fill with studio-lit plates nobody ate and recipes nobody cooked. Hotline runs the other direction. You open it and see what people actually made this week, in their own kitchens, photographed on their own phones. You save it, you shop it, you cook it. We call that scroll to table. Authenticity here is enforced rather than claimed. Every uploaded cover photo passes a synthetic-image check before it can reach Discover, any user can flag a photo or a clip as machine made with the robot on the recipe, and a person reviews every report. We remove synthetic images when we find them, and we will never stamp a badge on the rest saying everything is real, because that is a promise nobody can keep. The intelligence is real, and it stays backstage. Friday, our in-app cook, turns a photo, a link, or a sentence into a proper recipe, groups meals that share ingredients, builds a week of dinners against a budget, and fills a cart at Kroger, Instacart, HEB, and the retailers behind them through sanctioned APIs. None of that is the pitch. What you see is a person, a plate, and a clear path to making it yourself. Where it goes from here is a cooking network that owns the whole line from inspiration to dinner, where the social layer creates the appetite and the commerce layer answers it. The next wave of consumer apps will be drowning in generated content. Hotline is the bet on the opposite side: that the most valuable thing on a food feed is proof a person actually stood at a stove.
