HotCam was founded in 1998 by sound mixer Trevor Hotz ('Hot') and lighting cameraman Alistair Cameron ('Cam'). Having grown from a small, boutique operation in London we are now one of the world's leading equipment hire companies, supplying cameras, lights and sound recording equipment and crews to the television programme-making community in both the UK and USA. Although we've got much bigger over the years, we've retained our 'traditional' hands-on, personal, approach to customer service. As a result we now enjoy an excellent reputation amongst our loyal customers, regularly attracting long-term contracts and repeat business and winning praise for the quality of our work and our attention to detail. By combining this service based approach with state-of-the-art, regularly maintained and frequently updated equipment HotCam has set itself apart from many of its competitors. We have a strong tradition of developing our people too: many of our kitroom guys have gone on to become camera and sound people for example, and by providing regular training and personal growth opportunities we are able to keep staff for a long time, a move that benefits customers too as they know that the HotCam people that they are dealing with are knowledgeable and experienced. It seems to be working. By maintaining the quality of our service, our equipment and our people we are able to attract some of the biggest names in broadcasting and many of the highest profile shows from The X Factor and The Only Way Is Essex in the UK to America Revealed and History Detectives in the US.
