Holu Energy LLC (“Holu Energy”) was formed to provide commercial, industrial and non-profits with access to solar energy in order to reduce and stabilize their energy costs, while also providing investors an appropriate return based on project risk. Targeted organizations include, but are not limited to, warehouses, churches, schools and associations of apartment owners (AOAOs). Because of Hawaii’s dependence on oil for production of electricity, the cost of electricity to its residents is extremely high. This is particularly acute for non-profits that do not have the ability to take advantage of the tax credits for alternate energy sources such as solar power. Holu Energy’s expertise is in employing financing and contracting structures which allow facilities to take advantage of solar power projects while simultaneously providing a competitive return for a range of investors.
