Holme & Co was founded in Naples in the year 1866 by Edward and Richard Holme their business was connected to the Maritime sector and Insurance business with Great Britain and Colonies. In 1948 was taken over by a British firm Mitchel Cotts and managed by Mr. Gilbert Harrison, former officer of the Royal Navy and Commander of the repair yard of the Royal Navy Base in Massawa. In 1968 the firm as taken over by him and managed with his young partner Marvell Markowicz Some years later his daughter Andrina and Husband Giorgio Avolio de Martino joined the firm and upon his death in 1993, the Board of Directors remained in the hands of Marvell, Andrina and Giorgio. The main activities of the firm have always remained in the shipping and Insurance business, and nowdays is a qualified Shipping Agency representing well knows Cruising Companies as well as Companies with Cargo ships and remaining representatives of P.& I Clubs and Cargo Insurance Companies. Finally the firm has also a Motor Car claims sector handling claims for Foreign Motor Insurers in line with the International Bureaus agreement (Under Italian Bureau. UCI. Supervision) In recent time our firm is opening also to handle claims for the private public both for property and personal injuries resulting from accidents of any nature. At present the firm is run by the young sons and daughters of the Harrison-Avolio de Martino and Markowicz family and precisely Guido and Oriana, Anna and Romana. The Seniors remain “active“ advisors.
