Historical Concepts is a multi-disciplinary firm offering architecture and planning services to quality-minded clients. We work with individuals, developers and civic clients to create homes, buildings, neighborhoods and communities that are timeless in style and enduring in value. Established in 1982, Historical Concepts remains dedicated to the time-honored principles of classical and traditional design. Approaching each project from both an architecture and planning perspective, we create an authentic sense of place to be enjoyed today and cherished by generations to come. Our precedent-based approach to design transcends region or style. Founder James L. Strickland, president Andrew Cogar, and partners Terry Pylant, Kevin Clark, Domenick Treschitta, Elizabeth Dillon, Clay Rokicki, and David VanGroningen collaborate to lead small design teams recruited from the nation’s top traditional architecture programs. Partners Aaron Daily and Todd Strickland round out the leadership team, serving respectively as Director of Best Practices and Managing Principal.
