The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona responds to the root causes of hunger, and seeks to restore dignity, health, opportunity and hope to people living in poverty. Our mission is to change lives in the communities we serve by feeding the hungry today, and building a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow.
Our programs include emergency food assistance and free meals, as well as a farmers’ market, community gardens, nutrition education, culinary training, support for local growers and food systems, advocacy, and more. We partner with over 350 organizations to serve five counties of southern Arizona—over 23,000 square miles.
We’re a proud member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and hunger relief organizations. In 2018, we were named Food Bank of the Year by Feeding America.
Founded in 1994 by activist and philanthropist Diane Meyer Simon, Global Green USA was created by President Mikhail S. Gorbachev to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future by reconnecting humanity with the environment.
For 25 years, Global Green has been a leader in advancing sustainable and resilient communities. We protect human and environmental health, build stronger communities, and support our planet’s natural systems. Global Green leads an international effort to create greener cities, neighborhoods, and businesses, along with promoting environmental health and justice.
Global Green USA is the only national environmental nonprofit headquartered in Southern California and also has offices in New Orleans, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and New York.
