Hippo Roller is a social enterprise in South Africa with a hybrid business model that includes a For Profit Company in South Africa namely, Imvubu Projects (Pty) Ltd. (Reg no: 2016/323589/07) Trading As Hippo Roller to ensure economic sustainability of the business; and a Non Profit Company, the Hippo Roller Foundation NPC (Reg no: 2017/458603/08) which promotes the social sustainability of the business. Hippo Roller facilitates the distribution of its products to water-stressed communities, while addressing the challenge of end-user affordability. It manufactures and distributes Hippo Rollers locally and internationally, with support from corporates (via Corporate Social Investment programmes), Governments (national and regional), NGOs and other organisations and individuals. As the Kevin Rudd, former PM of Australia puts it: "If we don't succeed with water we will fail with all SDGs," referring to the commitment by Governments, businesses and civil society together with the United Nations to mobilize efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030. Water is at the heart of what we do. It is our "why?" Universal, inclusive and indivisible, the Agenda calls for action by all countries to improve the lives of people everywhere (http://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/).
