Highmark Renewables Research LP has developed unique, market-ready anaerobic digestion technologies for commercial application in the management of high-solid organic waste streams. Highmark’s Integrated bioMass Utilization System (IMUS™) optimizes the production of methane-rich biogas which is used as a natural gas substitute for electricity generation and heating. Organic residues from the digestion process are weed seed and pathogen free and have a nutrient profile beneficial to the physical and chemical properties of soil when applied as a fertilizer or soil amendment.
