Hexon Data is an urban mobility data company that helps people to navigate cities smartly through various means of travel. Our analytics engine turns transit data into an asset to help transit agencies to increase ridership (revenue) and diversify non-fare revenues (monetize mobility data). As a result, our approach tends to give certainty to passengers and sound financial return to transit operators, public and private sectors, timely addressing massive annual financial losses due to traffic congestion in major cities across the rapidly urbanized Asia. Combining our expertise in data science and domain knowledge in public transport, we strive to improve the urban transit experience that can be measured in terms of higher ridership (revenue), lower operating expenses (OpEx), improved operational efficiency, and, instill high level of trust and satisfaction among customers. UBUS, which is a registered trademark of Hexon Data was an award-winning prototype concept first won the Most Promising Project in The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Global Startup Labs Programme in August 2014 (MIT GSL), a collaborative initiative by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), Malaysia’s Ministry of Education (MOE) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA (MIT). It was later engaged as a technology transfer consultant in the university campus transportation improvement through UM Living Lab Grant Programme (Grant reference number: LL024-16SUS). Our technology has been adopted by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to monitor, analyze and improve its free city shuttle service known as PJ City Bus.
