The Hess Law Group (HLG) is a firm committed to professional excellence and providing personalized and creative legal advice to its clients. The HLG attorneys offer a wide range of legal services to the small business owner/entrepreneur by way of corporate counseling on topics from taxes and corporate strategy to employment relations. The attorneys of HLG also have a wealth of knowledge for the individual client related to general civil matters or domestic disputes and in more technical areas of estate planning including wills, trusts and medical, tax and financial directives. The diverse experience of the attorneys and their collaborative approach with the local business community has established an impressive reputation and a trusting relationship with their clients. David Hess, the founder of the Hess Law Group, has practiced in Southeastern Michigan for over 30 years, primarily in the areas of commercial and construction law; however, his interests and curiosity over the years have provided him with many great opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of domestic, estate and probate litigation as well as employment relation matters. It was in 2002 when David decided to launch his own firm, DM Hess & Associates. In 2003, Brandon Hess a former consultant with Arthur Andersen, PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM in their Global Business Services group, decided living out of a hotel room was not as exciting as it had been as a recent college graduate, so Brandon left the glitz and glamour of consulting to further his education at Wayne State Law School, with the goal of ultimately joining his father as an attorney, a goal he accomplished in October 2006. Since his arrival, Brandon quickly integrated himself with the staff and clients and proved he is an integral part of a growing practice. With the the addition of Brandon as a full time attorney and his diverse background, with a significant technical flavor, David was able to broaden the original scope of DM Hess & Associates and as of July 1, 2009 the firm re-branded to be the Hess Law Group.
