heRo3 -- Web-based HEOR modeling platform Information

hēRo3 (heroapps.io) is a new Web-based platform for building, running, and sharing cost-effectiveness models as interactive Web apps. hēRo3 supports development of both Markov cohort & partitioned survival models. All calculations in hēRo3 are performed on a back-end server running an open-source modeling package in R. What hēRo3 basically does is allow modelers to easily and quickly build cost-effectiveness models in R--even if they've not had any programming experience in R. hēRo3 also saves lots of time by automatically producing visually engaging and highly customizable displays. hēRo3 is also transparent and easy to QA. Best of all, every model on hēRo3 can be run on practically any Web-enabled device. hēRo3 is designed to address a range of problems that have plagued health economics modeling in Microsoft Excel for years, including: (1) difficulty in spotting, tracking, and correcting programming errors; (2) limited graphics functionality, with few options for customization; (3) heavy investment in development of bespoke user interfaces; (4) limited analytic functionality without use of additional Visual Basic code; (5) difficulties with version control and life-cycle model management; and (6) limited options for usage analytics and statistics. hēRo3 was launched in mid-2018, and now is being used by a number of organizations, including ICER.
