Herdsman Information

Herdsman is a simple to use swine management platform (software) that, in its simplest form, allows you to collect data from your herds and summarize that data into standard reports and action lists to better manage farm operation. In more complex editions, Herdsman has the capacity to create and link individual animals at farrowing to their parents allowing for multigenerational lineage and inbreeding tracking. In the most advanced editions Herdsman becomes that only commercially available swine management platform able to create, maintain and improve your own proprietary genetics based upon measured, multigenerational traits with comparisons available within and across your herds. At Herdsman, we know your time is valuable so we've also developed links to automatically register animals with NSR (National Swine Registry), submit and retrieve evaluation data from NSR's STAGES system and integrate with CCSI (Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement). At S&S Programming, we've been tracing individual pigs since 1983. We are experts in the field. We do similar work for the purebred breed associations in the US and abroad as well as other species' pedigree work. This history gives us experience in the individual pig-tracking field for food safety and meat origination technology.
