HER Docs Information

HER Docs Foundation is a non-profit foundation established in 2019 by Maja Szydłowska, Katarzyna Korytowska and Weronika Adamowska. Our mission is to popularize film (mainly documentary) œuvre of female filmmakers, to promote their creativity, to empower and support women and girls and through the power of the visual (her)story, inspire and initiate social change. The main project implemented by our foundation is the HER Docs Film Festival - the first film festival in Poland (and one of the few in the world) presenting the documentary oeuvre of female film auteurs. HER Docs is a unique showcase of the creativity of women from different contexts and backgrounds, and aims at elevating their voices in the film industry, as well as putting inspiring, unrepresented stories in the spotlight. The festival serves as a platform for female documentary filmmakers, where their works can be presented, promoted, and reach new audiences. The festival also aims at supporting female filmmakers in their professional development - exchange of experiences, establishing professional contacts, meeting other creators, expanding their networks.
