Hensler Surgical Products was created in 2011 by Dr. Thomas E. Melin (Neurosurgeon) in Wilmington, NC. Prior to founding Hensler Surgical, Dr. Thomas Melin has nearly 30 years experience in neurological surgery. He completed his Neurosurgical training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Hensler Bone Press and the Hensler Bone Collector are devices that were invented, engineered, and sold globally by Dr. Melin. Both devices are centered around Autograft harvesting for spinal and orthopedic surgeries, decreasing not only the reliance of synthetics and/biologics, but improving the flow of the case while utilizing these devices intra-op. To date, the Hensler Bone Press has been used in over 16,000 cases, has clinical data from bone analysis down to a mesenchymal level, and the value proposition is a 1:1 savings, allowing for massive capital savings AND patient benefit.
