Henry's Home Horse and Human Sanctuary Information

Henry's Home is an all-volunteer 501c3, located in south Conroe. We take in rescued horses, giving them a forever home and meaningful work in our Horses & Heroes Equine Learning Program. That program offers our local veterans and first responders as much time with our 33 horses as they want, including therapeutic ground training and arena/obstacle course/trail riding lessons, at no cost to them. Horses are the very best therapists and teachers, mirroring honestly and instantly your energy, emotions, words and thoughts. We also offer another program called our Horses & Heroes Ranch Life Mentoring Program. This program offers veterans and first responders the opportunity to teach or learn real-life beginner skills needed to run a ranch, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, mechanics, pasture and pond maintenance, gardening and ranch cooking, to name a few. Participants work with peers, and civilians, on projects here at the sanctuary, often bringing a renewed sense of purpose back to their lives. We are located on a donated 21-acre old horse farm, and are fully funded by donations from people, other nonprofit organizations, corporations and community grants. We partner with a number of other local and national veteran-service organizations. We have three ways your company can be served by our nonprofit, including: Volunteer Workdays - come and learn new skills while working on real projects at our sanctuary. Your group can work on anything from building a fence or hay feeder to cutting up and stacking firewood, staining barns and cutting brush. Family or Employee Events - enjoy a picnic or other company activity at our sanctuary. Equine Assisted Team Building Activity - learn leadership and communication skills by way of our rescued horses, in an experiential way, with our professional trainers.
