In 2010, a busy young guy with a hearty appetite and little time to spare had grown weary of the typical fast fare options. The world of friend combo meals and indistinguishable discount menus had long since lots its allure of convenience. Not only that, but the food just wasn't that good and it certainly wasn't good for you. To follow his first love (his fiance), he made his way towards Bakersfield to set up their lives together. His second love (great tasting food) left his stomach begging for another bite that was quick and healthier than the other choices out there. He realized that the best food was literally all around him - right in the fields of Central California. With the help of his friend (who happens to be a culinary chef), he developed the concept and menu for Helpings, a more accessible farm to table eatery that redefines the concept for fast food. He carefully selected each farmer, baker and butcher to ensure the freshest, best-tasting food that could also be found quickly and inexpensively in a comfortable setting.
