HellaStorm's hardware-based massively parallel Stream Processing Unit (SPU) for data streaming and capture applications leverages our core IP to accelerate the data movement, key protocols, and file system. The SPU enables low and deterministic latency 'time to first byte' independent of load. With significantly higher throughput, each HellaStorm SPU-based streaming video appliance can replace between two and five (or more) software powered streaming servers and with a power requirement that is a fraction of the amount required previously. With power needs so extreme in hyper-scale streaming data center environments, the lower draw per Gb/s, coupled with the high throughput is revolutionary and multiplies the service capabilities of the existing data center footprint.
