Healthy Connections Clinic Information

Healthy Connections is a wholly owned subsidiary of Burnie Brae, a seniors centre at Chermside. Burnie Brae has a long history of providing exercise options to over 50s, with a wide range of classes offered on a weekly basis at its Chermside Centre. Planning for a dedicated exercise clinic commenced in 2005. Burnie Brae management persisted for many years with their ambition, petitioning the government and writing grant applications until the long awaited goal became a reality when Healthy Connections Chermside Clinic was launched in November 2011 with generous funding from the Department of Communities. The first Clinic was so successful that a second facility based on the same model, was opened at Taringa in 2014. Healthy Connections outstanding mode of operation service was acknowledged with an Australia wide award as the Exercise Physiology Practice of 2015 and a Healthy Connections staff member, Renee Weller won the award as Graduate Exercise Physiologist of 2015.
