Healthwatch Rutland Information

Healthwatch Rutland has three main responsibilities: To listen to the views and concerns of people in Rutland on health and social care services To influence and improve the way that health and social care services are provided locally To help local people find out about the services available that meet their needs ??We believe that the experiences of people who use them should be at the heart of health and social care services. We provide an opportunity for local people to have a powerful voice on the health and social care services they use. Through our network of committed volunteers, and good relations with existing voluntary and community groups, we work to listen to what local people think about the services they use and work with providers to change and improve them. We help people get the best out of their local health and social care services. Whether it's improving them today or helping to shape them for tomorrow. We use the information we gather to spot important local issues and trends and we carry out our own research into those issues that need more investigating, working closely with existing voluntary and community groups and the authorities. We need to prioritise which issues we focus on. In particular, we want to make sure we represent the voice of the seldom heard, the vulnerable, and those in isolated communities. And, most importantly, we have powers in law which give us influence. We will feed back what we discover to the authorities, who have a legal responsibility to use our findings to shape and improve services. This means you can be reassured that your views really do count.
