HealthBegins is a national mission-driven design & implementation partner helping Medicaid-serving clients move upstream and advance health equity. Founded by physicians and public health experts, HealthBegins believes that healthcare is better when it routinely works inside and outside its walls to improve the ‘upstream’ social and structural conditions that make people sick, especially people who belong to historically marginalized communities. HealthBegins has emerged as a leading network for healthcare-based “Upstreamists”, professionals with the responsibility and skills to improve the social and structural drivers of health equity through practice and system transformation.
