The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the United States. NSBE, founded in 1975, supports and promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students and technical professionals in engineering and technology.
With more than 600 chapters and more than 24,000 active members in the U.S. and abroad, NSBE’s mission is “to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."
The mission of NABA, Inc. is to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the future of the accounting and finance profession with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors.
The goals of the Association include, but are not limited to, the following:
* To promote and develop the professional skills of our members
* To encourage and assist minority students in entering the accounting profession
* To provide opportunities for members to fulfill their civic responsibilities
* To promote public confidence in our members and the services they provide
* To encourage cordial relations among members and cooperative relationships with other professionals
* To represent the interests of current and prospective minority accounting professionals
* To ensure long-term financial stability and provide adequate resources to implement chapter, regional, and national programs.

Established in 1910, The Urban League is the nation's oldest and largest community- based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Today, the National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, spearheads the non-partisan efforts of its local affiliates. There are 94 local affiliates of the National Urban League located in 35 states and the District of Columbia providing direct services to more than 2 million people nationwide through programs, advocacy and research.
