Haystack Associates, Inc. was established in 1989 by Denise Simons as an information management/training consulting firm in the Seattle area. Haystack provides services to government agencies, non-profit organizations, fortune 500 corporations, and large and small professional firms throughout the United States and in Asia. Our team includes Attorneys that specialize in ediscovery, IT, and compliance issues; certified IT Security Professionals; and Network/Cloud Systems Architects and Developers to provide clients with a comprehensive set of solutions to manage and ensure the security of information systems. Our experience includes analysis, design, and project management during implementation of retention, security, and privacy programs, document imaging, electronic content management, indexing, and retrieval of information and documents maintained in electronic and paper formats. Extensive experience in national and international legal requirements for documentation, retention, and information privacy and security for a variety of industries including aerospace, transportation, pharmaceutical, hazardous waste management, manufacturing, food distribution, and commercial retail operations. Haystack's services are grounded in the philosophy that powerful resources and assets are created when systems are built that effectively manage the information lifecycle and transfer information and knowledge to staff, clients, or customers. D enise Simons is the Principal Consultant and CEO of Haystack Associates, Inc. She has over twenty-five years of experience in the fields of Information Management, Regulatory Compliance, Systems Development, and Training. Her focus includes Information Retention and Destruction programs; Vital records and Business Continuity; Office Automation strategies for information storage, retrieval and governance; Security and Privacy issues and programs, Governance and Regulatory Compliance programs and audit measures; and Project Management ( view recent/upcoming presentations). She is a member of ARMA and serves as the Communications Director for the GNW Region of ARMA; Cloud Security Alliance; founding member of the Seattle Chapter of CSA serving on the Communications Strategic Planning Team, and as the Webmaster and IT systems coordinator for the Chapter, as well as on the legal formation team during startup. Prior to consulting Ms. Simons was the Information Manager for Hart-Crowser, one of the largest environmental and geotechnical engineering firms in the Pacific Northwest. She attended Western Washington University, in Bellingham, Washington where she completed her undergraduate studies in History and Education and Graduate studies in Archives and Information Management in March of 1983.
